What to expect when you book a consultation call with Carolyn Louise Weddings…
Congratulations if you got engaged over the summer! I expect it’s all been a bit of a whirlwind with dates, locations, and visions of your perfect wedding dress, all spinning around in your head, as well as falling down the Pinterest rabbit hole, pinning images of your dream wedding. Once you start to come down from cloud 9 you may have decided that you want a bit of help planning your wedding and started to contact wedding planners to get an idea of prices and what type of help they can offer.
One of the most common emails I get from couples is that they are looking for some help from a wedding planner and want to know my packages and prices. Unless they have specifically requested my final weeks co-ordination package, my most common reply is that we need to have a chat to find out a bit more detail so I can provide a bespoke quote and recommend a level of planning that suits the couple.
Consultations calls can be carried out face to face (especially if you’re local), by Skype or telephone call. I wanted to explain a bit more about what a consultation call involves so you know what to expect.
1. Find out more detail about the wedding/wedding plans
It’s important for me to understand where you currently are with your planning, if you are at the start of your wedding planning journey, are you looking for a full wedding plan? Or have you already booked your venue and a number of suppliers, but looking for some help along the wedding planning process? Partial planning is a hard service to quote for so it’s really important to be able to give you an accurate quote bespoke to you that I know what you need my help with, this avoids any additional costs further along your planning process that you may not have necessarily budgeted for.
2. Find out a bit more about you and your partner
I love to find out a bit more about my potential clients. Understanding what you do for jobs allows me to understand how much free time you have, and also finding out what you enjoy doing as a couple and your personalities, gives me an understanding of what is important to you and what kind of wedding you want in terms of style and vibe!
3. Find out if we’re a good match!
A consultation call isn’t just for the wedding planner to get to know the couple, it’s your opportunity to get to know me and know that you’ll be able to work with me. It’s important that you like me and feel you can work with me, as we’ll be working very closely over the few months to a year on one of the most important days of your life. It’s also your opportunity to ask me any questions or concerns you may have.
4. Next steps
Every consultation call is completely non-obligatory. Following the call, once I have gathered all the information I need from you I will put together a bespoke proposal for you to consider. I am happy to answer any further questions you may have following the proposal, or if you are happy to go ahead I will send you my service summary and contract to sign, along with an invoice for a 20% deposit which is required to secure the date of your wedding.
