Final Weeks Co-ordination Explained…

Carolyn Louise Weddings, on the day co-ordination

My final weeks co-ordination package is my most popular so I thought I would write a blog on why brides are deciding to book a wedding planner for final weeks of their planning and whether it could help you be less stressed in the run up to your special day!

I get it, my full wedding planning package is not for everyone for a number of reasons, firstly it’s probably an additional expense you don’t have the budget for and secondly maybe you just simply want to plan your wedding, whatever the reason you have done the majority of the planning yourself but now as the wedding day approaches you are starting to feel a little anxious. You wake up in the middle of the night panicking that you have forgotten something vital and it’s all just starting to get a bit overwhelming when really you just want to concentrate on looking and feeling your best on the day.

Before becoming a wedding planner I met too many brides that in their own words “just wanted to get it over with” which is so sad! The early engagement excitement has well and truly worn off and the reality of wedding planning has kicked in. Suppliers are bombarding you with questions about logistics and timings, which may then impact other suppliers; the venue and their timings, especially the catering as you’ll be hugely disappointed if the food is not up to scratch. Everything has a knock on effect which can then have an impact on the quality of the day.

Your wedding day is the start of your new life together as a married couple, it’s all part of your journey and it shouldn’t be seen as the end destination. The final few weeks before the wedding you should enjoy, spend time with your finance, friends and family that may have travelled afar, spend time relaxing, have a spa day, shop for your honeymoon, enjoy being pampered, instead of checking every five minutes whether you’ve had a last minute wedmin issue or problem that you have to deal with.

So if reading this is starting to give you pangs of anxiety, or you have fallen out of love with planning your wedding, then you need a wedding planner to provide final weeks co-ordination (which is sometimes also sold as ‘on-the-day co-ordination). Six weeks before your wedding date we will get together for a full planning meeting where we will go through all your wedding plans,  go through all your suppliers and ensure that you haven’t missed anything vital at this point. I will then work to pull all the final details together, I will contact suppliers and liaise with your venue with a running schedule for the day so everyone knows where and when they need to be. I will also be there on the day, from either the day before or morning of the wedding to set up, meet suppliers as they arrive, as well as being on-hand throughout the day for you, your guests and suppliers, to ensure everything runs smoothly.
